Woodland Owner Grants

The English Woodland grant Scheme is operated by the Forestry Commission and offers a suite of grants that may be suitable for the management of existing woodland for woodfuel. You can find out more about the grants scheme English Woodland Grant Scheme.  

EWGS grants include:

  • Planning Grant a template to assist planning
  • Assessment Grant a more detailed gathering of information to improve management decisions
  • Improvement Grant a capital grant for work that will create, enhance and sustain biodiversity benefits.
  • Management Grant an annual contribution for providing and sustaining higher-quality biodiversity benefits.
  • Regeneration grant supporting positive change through natural regeneration and restocking after felling.
  •  Woodfuel Woodland Improvement Grant funds work that will increase the supply of wood from undermanaged or inaccessible woodlands*.
